Mediation is process by which parties who are in disagreement regarding paternity, dissolution of marriage and other family court matters may resolve outstanding issues prior to, or in lieu of litigation.
It is a preferable method to court action because it is less expensive for both parties, it allows both parties to maintain control over the outcome, it is managed by the expert, neutral mediator, and the process is confidential. Certification as a mediator involves 40 hours of specialized training. Mediators at Psychological Affiliates all have post-graduate degrees in Psychology .
