Chelsea Bennett, Psy.D.

Dr. Bennett is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in criminal and forensic evaluations. She focused her educational and doctoral training on forensic psychology and has a significant history of experience in correctional and secure settings, including jails, crisis stabilization units, and state hospitals.

She completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship with the Department of Children and Families at Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida, where she worked on a maximum-security unit treating pre- and post-trial defendants. Dr. Bennett completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Psychological Affiliates, Inc., specializing in the provision of various forensic services including criminal and forensic assessments and evaluations. She has authored expert reports to the court for individuals committed as Incompetent to Proceed and Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity. Dr. Bennett has served as an expert witness in criminal, family, and dependency court matters. Known to be detail-oriented and analytical, other professionals often seek her input for consultation and work product reviews. 

 

Dr. Bennett enjoys assisting the court by sharing her knowledge and experience with pre- and post-trial evaluations, including recidivism risk (general, violent, or sexual) and assessment of a defendant’s credibility. She has experience with assessing IQ/intellectual functioning, need for civil commitment, and mental injury. Dr. Bennett is well-versed in fitness for duty evaluations specific to law enforcement and other first-responders.
